The Saxon Arms in Stratton near Dorchester in Dorset is a village inn that serves real ale, fine wine and rosette standard pub food - but don't just take our word for it...

A Real Treat!

I just felt that i would like to write to say how much my husband, myself and two friends enjoyed our evening dinner at the Saxon Arms on Saturday 6th Sept. We have not been for sometime as being pensioners meals out are now a real treat! Our meals were all most enjoyable, the service was excellent and the staff were all most pleasant and charming. Our friends do not live locally but were impressed as we were. We hope it won't be too long before we can visit you again. Many thanks.

We Recommend Your Lovely Pub To Others

Thought i would like to write to say that on a recent holiday to Dorset, myself and my family had the pleasure of visiting your pub two or three times and each time we were warmly welcomed by your staff both bar and restaurant. The service and food was excellent, what a nice range from the menu and specials boards. Myself and my family will recommend your lovely pub to other friends and family. We ourselves hope to visit you again next time we come to Dorset.

A Huge Thank You

May i please express our huge thanks to you and your lovely staff for all you did to make us very welcome on the day of my father's funeral? I know i write for all who were there when i say Thank you VERY much. You quietly worked away in the kitchen and behind the bar and did not mind when we lingered a little longer than planned. Thank you.

Personally, i intend to visit West Dorset and shall make a point of eating at The Saxon Arms.

With all our thanks, much appreciated.

Just a quick note to say a really big thank you for all your efforts in making Vic’s day a huge success. He thoroughly enjoyed it indeed we all did. The food was excellent and your staff were really efficient and helpful. Thank you too for all input to obtain the cake – I’m sure you will agree that it was very impressive!

We look forward to visiting you again next time we are in Dorset and will not hesitate to recommend you.
Thank you once again

Our Dog Was Made So Welcome

On a visit to Stratton we had lunch at the Saxon and were so happy that our dog was made so welcome the landlady told us that they have lots of doggie visiters and biscuits were gratefully received . Our lunch was delicious we will definitely return to such a lovely dog friendly pub.
