Great food, prepared fresh to orderThe Saxon Arms prides itself on delivering high-quality pub food at affordable prices, and this philosophy is successfully realised by award-winning head chef Nigel Popperwell, whose serving of great pub classics as well as modern innovative dishes has earned the pub an excellent reputation amongst both critics and the community. Nigel has worked at some of the best establishments in Britain and Europe - including the five-star Westbury Hotel in Mayfair London.

The pub's daily-changing specials of at least eight to twelve main courses often include mixed meat platters, pork medallions and Creedy Farm duck breast. You'll also find fresh, local fish selections of hand dived Portland scallops, king prawns, sea bream, prime English meats, local game and vegetarian dishes, not to mention a comprehensive English cheese board.
